Iftar with Ox Hill Baptist Church

On Wednesday, March 4, the American Turkish Friendship Association (ATFA) and Youth Academy joined the congregation of Ox Hill Baptist Church for a meaningful community iftar that brought together families and community members in a spirit of friendship and dialogue. The event welcomed around 100 participants and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere reflecting the values of Ramadan.

Organized by ATFA and young professionals, the evening highlighted the importance of interfaith understanding and community engagement in Northern Virginia. Pastor Jeff and an ATFA representative shared reflections on the traditions of fasting in Ramadan and Lent, offering guests an opportunity to learn about the spiritual significance of these practices across faith traditions.

Following the remarks, participants enjoyed a shared iftar meal, music performances, and a lively Kahoot game that encouraged interaction and connection among attendees. The gathering beautifully reflected the spirit of Ramadan by fostering friendship, dialogue, and a stronger sense of community between the Muslim and Christian communities.

Programs like this community iftar are part of ATFA’s ongoing efforts to promote interfaith dialogue, cultural exchange, and community partnership throughout Northern Virginia.
