ATFA Youth Visit Workhouse Arts Center for Cultural Exchange

This week, young members of ATFA had the unique opportunity to visit the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Virginia, for a special tour led by President & CEO Keith Gordon.

The visit offered an enriching blend of art, history, and community engagement. Our youth explored the center’s vibrant galleries, learned about the powerful history of the site—formerly a prison—and witnessed its transformation into a thriving cultural hub. The experience served as a meaningful reminder of how spaces rooted in hardship can be reimagined through creativity, dialogue, and community spirit.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Gordon and the entire Workhouse Arts Center team for their warm hospitality and insightful conversation. We look forward to building on this connection through future partnerships and collaborative programs.

Stay tuned for more inspiring cultural exchange events hosted by ATFA!
