A Grand Community Potluck in the Spirit of America’s 250th Anniversary
In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the American Turkish Friendship Association (ATFA) is proud to present The Long Table Iftar—a large-scale, inclusive community potluck iftar bringing together residents of the Northern Virginia region.
At the heart of the event is a powerful civic symbol: 250 community tables, representing 250 years of shared American history, democratic life, and community-building. Around these tables, neighbors from all backgrounds will gather to share food, conversation, and connection—living out the enduring American idea that from many, we come together.
Designed as a welcoming, family-friendly celebration, The Long Table Iftar will feature a shared potluck meal, long-table seating that encourages interaction, cultural elements, children’s activities, and a warm, inclusive atmosphere open to all. The call to prayer will…
