Turkish language is spoken by over 250 million people in the world. Today Turkish is taught in 115 countries as a second language in many leading high schools and colleges as well as in United States. Moreover, Turkish is one of the critical-need languages under the National Security Language Initiative that highlights Turkish Language as “actively sought by universities, government agencies and the business sector for their skills, experience, and knowledge!” (www.nsliforyouth.org)

MAFTAA and ATFA 3rd Virginian Turkish American Cultural Reception

Virginian Turkish-American Cultural Reception will be held at the Old City Hall in Richmond with many Delegates and Senators in attendance. Reception will include Turkish cuisine, live music, and Turkish traditional art exhibition.

Annual Friendship Dinner brought into prominence “The Act of Living Together”

The American Turkish Friendship Association (ATFA) along with the Rumi Forum - Fairfax organized the Annual Dialogue & Friendship Dinner. The event held at Marriot Hotel at Tysons Corner in Washington D.C. hosted so many distingueshed names from different walks of life. Elected state and city officials, community leaders, representatives of different faith communities, bussines, media and academia were at the program. This year’s event, like others, has a significant subject: ‘The Act of Living Together’

   

Chairman Sharon Bulova Visited ATFA

Chairman of Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Sharon Bulova visited the head office of American Turkish Friendship Association ( ATFA) at Fairfax. The Chairman met the leaders of the  American Turkish Community, members of ATFA in Fairfax and gave a speech regarding how to have a better communication between the diverse members of the community.

 

   

The Fourth Annual Solidarity Dinner

American Turkish Friendship Association ( ATFA ) along with Turkish American Chamber of Trade Industry and Commerce ( TACTIC DC ) organized the Fourth  Annual  Solidarity Dinner. The event held at Marriott hotel at Fair Oaks on August 23rd hosted both business people Washington DC Metropolitan Area , and provided the chance of exploring the ways of better cooperation.
