American Turkish Friendship Association (ATFA) hosted a “Meet and Greet with your local elected officials” event Saturday, Dec. 12th at 6.00pm in ATFA office.
Over 100 friends and members of the American and Turkish communities came together in friendship on November 22, 2009 to celebrate the American Thanksgiving holiday.
ATFA celebrated RamadanBayram on Sept 20th. Approximately 1000 American and Turkish families gathered at Marshall HS in Fairfax and shared a Bayram meal together in friendship.
ATFA celebrated Ramadan with the Fairfax City Fire and Rescue Department, station 3. One evening, the Department took the opportunity to come to ATFA and share and iftar meal with families, and even had the time to show our children the fire engine and its equipment.
The 5th Annual Ashura Making Contest was held at ATFA on January 24th. The event started with a video presentation by five high school students; Rana Yurtsever, Sabiha-Seniha Sungur and Betul-Busra sisters who also participated in the contest.

On January 18, 2010, ATFA invited Virginia Senator Jim Webb to its community center.

Fairfax City Police Sergeant Pam Nevlud recently came to ATFA on Tuesday, December 1,2009. 
Members of the Northern Virginia Uyghur community celebrated Kurban Bayram at ATFA. 
VA Senator Mark Herring visited ATFA on November 23, 2009. Also in attendance were the Turkish American Chamber of Trade Industry and Commerce. 
Children and teens of the American-Turkish community came together with great enthusiasm on November 21, 2009.

Every Sunday, friends and members of the American and Turkish communities come together in friendship to share breakfast and tea. 
ATFA celebrated 
ATFA Ramadan Tent has started serving the community on Semptember 7th 2009. We offered iftar dinners to 400 people each night for 6 days.
